Popular Book Store

Our shop sits on Plot No. 30, which is just a short walk from the main Bapu Bazar. It is a very lively area to be in, and there is never a dull moment with all the shoppers walking by with their bags. We have a lot of shelves that reach all the way to the ceiling, and sometimes we have to use a shaky old ladder to get things down for people. It is a bit of a tight squeeze when more than three or four people are inside at once, but we make it work. We spend a lot of time just organizing the stacks because books have a way of getting messy when people are browsing through them. The fan in the corner makes a clicking sound that we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We aren't trying to be the fanciest store in the market; we just want to have what people need when they come in. Sometimes we stand out front and watch the crowds in Bapu Bazar when things are slow in the afternoon. It is a good spot to be, and we know many of the other shopkeepers around here by name. We open up at the same time every morning and stay until the streetlights come on. It is just honest work, and we like being part of the neighborhood where everyone is trying to make a living and keep things moving forward.
