Polly Marble Trading Co

Our place, Polly Marble Trading Co, is located out in Sukher, right in the Shree Marble Nagar area. If you know Udaipur, you know Sukher is where all the stone action happens. It’s always noisy with machines and trucks moving around, but we are used to it by now. We handle a lot of trading, mostly moving marble from one place to another. Some days are slow and we just sit and drink tea, and other days it feels like everyone wants something at the exact same time. We don't have a big fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a practical space where we can talk business and show people what we have in the yard. The sun gets really hot out here in the afternoons, so we usually try to get the heavy lifting done early in the morning. Being in Marble Nagar means we have plenty of neighbors in the same trade, so there is always someone to talk to about the market. We’ve been at this for some years and seen many blocks of stone come and go. It’s not an easy life, but it’s a steady one. We don't try to act like a big corporation because we aren't one. We are just traders trying to do a decent job and get the stone where it needs to go.
