Padmawati Marble Industries

We operate out of Sukher on NH-8, right on the main road across from Tulsi Marble. Since we are an industries setup, there is always the sound of cutting or polishing going on in the background. It gets pretty loud and the air is usually thick with the smell of wet stone. We have machines running most of the day, and it takes a lot of attention to make sure everything is being processed correctly. The yard is usually quite busy with people moving slabs from the cutters to the storage area. It’s a bit messy, with water and stone slurry on the ground in some spots, so you have to watch where you walk. We aren't trying to be anything fancy. We just focus on the raw work of turning big blocks into something people can actually use. My clothes are usually damp by the end of the shift, and my ears ring a bit from the saws. We don't have a big marketing department; we just have our work and the stone sitting out front. It’s a tough environment, especially when it’s hot outside, but we’ve got a rhythm down. People stop by because they see the activity from the road, and we just show them whatever we happen to be working on that day. It is a long day's work, but the machinery makes it possible to handle the volume we deal with every single month.
