National Coconut Suppliers

Work starts very early for us at Hiran Magri Krishi Mandi 69. Most people are still sleeping when the trucks arrive from down south. National Coconut Suppliers is basically a place of constant movement. We have piles of coconuts everywhere and the ground is usually covered in husks and bits of fiber. It’s a messy job, honestly. My clothes are always dirty by noon. We spend hours counting stock and talking to the truck drivers who come from far away. They usually have some interesting stories about the road. The mandi is a loud place with people shouting and horns honking all morning. We’ve been at space number 69 for a good while now. It’s a lot of heavy lifting. My back hurts some nights but that’s just part of the business. We don't have any fancy signs or shiny floors. It’s a warehouse in a market, nothing more. We supply to the local shops and the guys with the carts on the street. Sometimes we sit on the crates and eat lunch together when there is a break in the action. The heat in the summer can be tough under the tin roof, but we manage with a couple of old fans. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from dawn until we finally close up the shutters. There are always more coconuts to move tomorrow. That is the life we have here in the market.
