Mewar Kirana Store

Our kirana store is right on Tehsil Road by Mavli Junction. It’s been in the family for a long time. We sell the usual things—flour, rice, spices, and oil. We buy our stock from the big markets and try to keep everything fresh. The shop is quite old, so the walls have some cracks and the wooden shelves are a bit worn down, but it works for us. We don't bother with fancy packaging or displays. People come in with their own bags sometimes, and we weigh out the dal or sugar for them. It’s a very local way of doing things. My uncle sits at the back sometimes, helping with the accounts, while I deal with the customers at the front. It gets dusty because of the trucks passing by on the road to the Tehsil office, so we are always cleaning. We know which family likes which brand of tea and who prefers the spicy pickles. It’s that kind of place. We don't have any employees, just us family members taking turns behind the counter. Sometimes we run out of change, so we have to ask the neighbor shop for some coins. It’s just a normal, everyday shop. We don’t have a website or anything like that. If you need something for your kitchen, you just walk in and ask. We’re usually here unless there’s a local festival or a family wedding to attend. Life moves slow here, and we don't mind it.
