Meghna Marbles & Granites

Meghna Marbles & Granites is tucked away behind the Lodha Petrol Pump on NH-8 in Sukher. Being behind the pump means it’s a little quieter than being right on the edge of the asphalt, but the smell of diesel is usually in the air. We’ve got a good amount of space for our marble and granite slabs. Every morning, we come in and check the stock. We move things around with the crane, which is old but still does the job. It’s physical work, and by the end of the day, we’re usually pretty tired. We don't go in for big advertisements or fancy slogans. If you find us behind the petrol pump, you’ll see we just have rows of stone waiting to be looked at. People usually find us by word of mouth or by spotting our sign from the highway. We show them the different granites and explain why one slab looks different from the next. It’s just natural stone, so no two pieces are ever really the same. We spend a lot of time cleaning the slabs because the dust from the highway finds its way back here anyway. We've got a small crew and we all know our roles. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s not a glamorous life, but there is something satisfying about seeing a big piece of granite go off to be part of someone’s new home.
