Maruti Granites & Marbles (P) Ltd.

We are over at 279, Udyog Vihar in Sukher. The company name is Maruti Granites & Marbles (P) Ltd. If you know the Sukher area at all, you know it is a big hub for all kinds of stone. Our yard is filled with rows of granite and marble slabs standing on their ends. It is a lot of grey and white stone, mostly. The sun hits the polished slabs and makes it pretty bright out there during the middle of the day. We have a small crew that helps us with the loading and unloading. It is a tough job because those slabs are incredibly heavy and you have to be very careful not to chip the edges when moving them. We are not trying to be a fancy showroom. We have a basic office where we keep the registers and talk to the customers who drive in. Most people who come here are looking for something specific for a new building project. We show them what we have in the current lot. The inventory changes quite often as new blocks come in from the quarries. The noise from the nearby stone cutters is almost constant, so you get used to speaking a bit louder than usual. We have been in Sukher for a long time and have seen many other yards come and go. We just stick to our own routine. The tea stall down the road is where we usually grab a break.
