Man Mohan Mishthan & Namkeen

We are located right at Badi Holi Sati Chouraha. It’s a very old part of town with a lot of history. Man Mohan Mishthan & Namkeen is what the sign says above the door, though the paint is peeling a bit. We’ve got sweets on one side of the shop and salty snacks on the other. The room is quite long and narrow. We spend most of our day behind the counter. The festival seasons are the craziest times for us. We barely have time to sit down or even eat our own lunch then. During the rest of the year, it’s a bit slower and we can chat with the neighbors. We have a few regulars who come in every single day for the same thing. The building is old, so the walls are thick and it stays cool inside even when it's very hot out. We don't use any modern machines for most of our stuff. It’s all done by hand in the back kitchen. The light in the back room is a bit dim, but we know where everything is kept. Sati Chouraha is a landmark around here, so people find us easily enough. We don't bother with fancy displays or lights. We just put the food out and people buy what they need. It’s a family business and we’ve been here for a long time. My son helps out after he finishes his school work in the evenings.
