Laxmi General Store

Laxmi General Store has been a part of Mochiwara for a long time. It is a quiet village area in Kherwara, and our shop is right where most people pass by during their day. We keep a bit of everything because in a village like this, you cannot just run to a big city for every little thing. From soap and lentils to snacks for the kids, the shelves are usually full of daily stuff. Living and working in Udaipur district is peaceful, though the summers are tough. We start early because people like to get their shopping done before it gets too hot. It is mostly just family helping out behind the counter. We spend a lot of time chatting with people about the crops or the weather while we weigh out their sugar or pack their bags. The floor is concrete and the fan makes a bit of noise, but it keeps us going. We don't really do advertisements or anything fancy. People know we are here in the middle of the village. It is a small place, so if we don't have something, we usually try to get it in the next time the truck comes from the main town. It is just a regular general store doing its part for the local folks here in Mochiwara. We like the rhythm of the village life and seeing the same faces every day.
