Krishna Marble & Granites

Krishna Marble & Granites is situated on NH-8 in Sukher, right opposite the Eklingnath Petrol Pump. Having the petrol pump right there makes it easy for people to find us. We deal with both marble and granite, so there is always a lot of variety sitting out in the sun. The highway is always loud with trucks going by, but that’s the life of a stone yard in Udaipur. We spend a lot of time just moving slabs around so the light hits them right. Granite is especially tough to handle because it’s so heavy and the edges are sharp. I’ve been working here with my cousins for a few years now. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the crane and talk to the customers. It’s a practical business. We get the stone in, we clean it up a bit, and we wait for someone who needs it for their project. Sometimes a builder comes in and buys a whole lot at once, and other times it's just a homeowner looking for one piece. We treat everyone the same, really. It’s a lot of standing around in the heat and drinking chai while we wait for the next truck to arrive. If you need to find us, just look for the big stacks of stone across from the pump. We’re usually here until late evening getting things ready for tomorrow.
