Kohinoor Green Marbles

Down in Kherwara P O Khanmeen, Kohinoor Green Marbles has its setup. We are known for the green stone that comes from this region. It is a very specific type of marble and we have spent years learning how to cut it just right. The location is a bit quiet compared to the big cities, which is how we like it. We have a crew of local workers who have been with us since we started. The green marble has its own way of breaking, so you have to be careful when you are quarrying or sawing it. Our yard is usually quite green from all the slabs leaning against each other. It is a long day’s work and we usually finish up when the sun starts to set over the hills. We do not have a website or anything like that, we just rely on people knowing where we are. If you come down to Khanmeen, anyone can point you toward our gate. We keep the machines running as much as possible. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait, but that is just part of living in this area. We focus on the stone and making sure the slabs are cut to the right thickness. It is an honest living and it keeps the village busy with work.
