Khicha Marbles

We have been here at F-135-137 in the M.I.A. area of Madri for quite a long time now. If you head down Road No. 5, you will see our yard right there among the other industrial spots. Khicha Marbles started out small, with just a few slabs and a lot of hopes. Nowadays, the yard is usually full of stone and there is always white dust on our shoes. It is hard work, keeping track of all the different blocks and making sure the cuts are right, but we are used to the grind. The sun gets pretty hot out here in Udaipur during the summer months, but the work does not stop for the heat. Most of our days are spent talking to contractors or locals who just want a decent piece of marble for their kitchen or floors. We do not have a big fancy office with air conditioning everywhere; it is mostly just a desk and some chairs where we sit and figure out the orders. Our team knows the stone well, probably because they have been moving it around for years. Sometimes things get busy and the trucks are lined up, but other days it is a bit quieter and we catch up on the bookkeeping. It is a simple life here in the industrial area. We just try to show up every morning, get the machines running, and make sure people get what they asked for. That is how we have always done things.
