Khatwani General Store

Khatwani General Store is located at Dhanmandi 348. We've been here a while now. The shelves are packed with all sorts of things people need every day. Flour, soaps, packets of biscuits, and those little candies kids like. It gets pretty loud outside because of the market traffic. Usually, I'm behind the counter from morning until late evening. Some days are slow and I just sit there reorganizing the jars. People come in for a single pen or a whole month's supply of lentils. It’s a small space, so things are piled up high. If you can’t see something, you just have to ask me because I know where everything is tucked away. The floor gets a bit dusty with everyone walking in, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. I don’t have any fancy signs or anything. Just the stuff people need. My ledger is getting full again. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the front for a bit. It's just a regular shop where neighbors stop by to grab milk or talk for a minute. I try to keep enough stock so nobody has to go elsewhere. Most people know the name Khatwani around here. We don't change much. Just keep the doors open and wait for the next person to walk in. It’s basic work but it keeps me busy enough. Sometimes the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound when it's on high speed, but we've gotten used to it.
