Kashmira Belt & Mobile Shop

Kashmira Belt & Mobile Shop is a small place located at Udaipole, specifically at Mehta Ji Ki Badi 21. It’s a bit of an unusual mix, selling leather belts and mobile accessories in one spot, but it works for us. We have racks of belts hanging on one side and glass cases full of phone chargers and screen guards on the other. The smell of leather is quite strong when you first walk in, especially on hot days. We spend a lot of time helping people find the right size belt or trying to fit a glass protector on a phone without getting any bubbles under it. It’s fiddly work and requires a lot of patience. Udaipole is a very busy area with people coming from the bus stand and the railway station, so we see a lot of new faces every day. Many people just stop in because they realized they forgot their charger or their old belt finally snapped. We don't have a lot of space to move around, so we have to be very organized with where we keep the stock. Sometimes we sit on the stools outside for a bit of fresh air when the shop is empty. We’ve been in this spot for a while and have seen the buildings around us change, but our little shop stays pretty much the same. It’s a honest way to spend the day, just talking to people and selling simple things they need for their daily life.
