Being located in Parshwanath Dawa Bazar near MB Hospital means it’s always busy at Jitesh Pharma. The noise from the hospital nearby never really stops. We deal with a lot of people who are in a hurry or feeling a bit stressed out because of their family members being unwell. The shop is tucked into the bazar area, surrounded by other medicine shops, so there’s a constant flow of delivery bikes and people walking past the door. I spend most of my afternoon answering questions and looking through the stacks of boxes we have piled up. It gets a bit cramped inside when more than three people stand at the counter at once. The walls are lined with glass cabinets that I try to keep clean, though fingerprints always seem to appear. We handle a lot of different types of medicine because of the hospital being so close. You see all sorts of people here. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use the handheld lights to find the right drawer. It’s just the way things go in this part of town. I don't have a big staff, just a couple of us making sure the orders are correct. We don't do much advertising; the location does the work for us. The floor is old stone and the ceiling is high. It feels like a real workplace, messy but functional.
