Mohan Marbles

We are situated out at the 8th kilometer on Jaisamand Road in Titardi. Being a bit further out from the city center means we have a bit more space for the marble blocks, but it also means it’s a quieter life out here. We’ve been working with marble for a long time, and the yard is filled with rows of slabs. Most of our day is spent outdoors, regardless of whether it’s burning hot or cold. We check the quality of the stone when it arrives and help customers walk through the rows to find a set that matches. It’s a lot of walking. Titardi has grown over the years, but it still feels like the outskirts to us. We don't have a polished sales pitch. If someone likes a piece of marble, we tell them the price and how long it’ll take to load up. Sometimes we have tea with the truck drivers while they wait for their turn at the loading bay. It’s a slow and steady kind of business. We don't use any fancy technology, just our eyes and years of experience knowing what a good piece of stone looks like. The stone can be heavy and dangerous if you aren't careful, so we keep a close eye on the guys handling the slabs. It’s a simple routine that hasn’t changed much since we first set up shop out here on this long stretch of road heading south.
