Ismail Ali Gulam Ali Sadriwala

We are right near the Bank of Rajasthan, close to the Ghanta Ghar. The Clock Tower is the main thing everyone sees. Ismail Ali Gulam Ali Sadriwala is a long name for a shop, but it's been our name for generations. You can hear the bell from the tower every hour. It reminds us how the day is passing. The area around the Ghanta Ghar is always full of tourists and locals. It’s a bit of a walk to get to us because the streets are narrow and full of scooters. We don't have much space, but we make it work. The walls are thick and old, so it stays a bit cooler inside than out on the street. We keep our goods in wooden crates and on metal racks. It’s a bit of a jumble sometimes. We spend a lot of time talking to the other shopkeepers nearby. We’ve known them for years. Sometimes we trade stories about how things used to be before the bank was there. We don't do any marketing or have a website. People just find us because they know where we are or someone told them. We focus on the daily tasks, making sure the orders are right and the place is decent. It’s a lot of tradition in this part of town. We just keep doing what we've always done, day in and day out, under the shadow of the Clock Tower. It’s home.
