International Marbles & Granites

Even though our name is International Marbles & Granites, we are a local outfit based in Amberi along the NH-8. We picked this location because it’s a bit outside the main congestion of Sukher, but still right on the main transport route. It’s a simple setup with a large open yard and a small shed where we keep our tools and some of the more delicate slabs. We work with all kinds of marble and granite, mostly stuff that we source from the nearby hills. My day usually involves talking to customers and showing them the difference between the various grades of stone. It’s not always easy work because the slabs are incredibly heavy and we have to move them by hand or with a small crane. We’ve got a couple of dogs that hang around the yard and keep us company. The sun can be brutal out here in Amberi, and by the end of the day, we are all pretty tired and covered in white slurry from the saws. We don’t do much in the way of fancy displays. We just lean the slabs against the metal frames and let the natural light show what they look like. It’s an honest living and we have built some good relationships with the local builders over the years. We just take things one day at a time and try to get the work done right.
