Harshit Marble

We are located in Sukher, which is basically the heart of the marble world around here. Harshit Marble has been part of this landscape for a while. If you walk around Sukher, you will see nothing but stone for miles, and we are just one of those yards along the road. We don’t have a fancy address with a bunch of numbers, we are just here. The work is pretty basic. We get the blocks in, and we deal with the slabs. There is a lot of manual labor involved, and your back definitely feels it by the end of the week. We aren't doing anything groundbreaking. We just sell stone. Some days are slow and we just sit around talking about the news or the weather, and other days it is so busy we don’t even have time to eat lunch until late. The yard gets very dusty because of all the cutting and polishing happening nearby. You just get used to having a layer of white powder on everything you own. We like it here though. There is a good community of stone workers in Sukher. We all know each other and help out when a crane breaks down or someone needs an extra hand. It is a tough business but it is ours. We just take it one day at a time, looking at the slabs and waiting for the next truck to arrive at the gates.
