Hari Om Misthan

You can find us right at Fatehpura Chouraha. Being on a crossroads means there’s never a quiet moment. At Hari Om Misthan, we are mostly focused on the sweets and snacks people like to take to parties or family gatherings. We have the glass cases filled with different kinds of barfi and laddus. The morning starts early with the milk delivery. We spend hours boiling it down in the big iron pots in the back. It’s hot work and you have to keep stirring so it doesn't burn. People stop their bikes right outside to grab a quick box of something. The traffic lights at the chouraha mean we get a lot of people looking in our window while they wait for the green light. We don't have much room for people to sit down, so most of it is carry-out. We try to keep things clean, but with so many people coming in and out, it's a constant battle. The staff has been with us for years and they know the routine. We don't use any big machines, just our hands and some basic tools. It’s a local shop for local people. Nothing more, nothing less. We just keep making the sweets every day and hope the rain doesn't keep the customers away. Sometimes we run out of the most popular items by evening time.
