Ganesh General Store

Ganesh General Store is located on Bohra Ganesh Ji Road at A-1. It’s a small corner of the world where I’ve spent most of my adult life. The shop is filled with everything from bags of rice to bars of soap. It smells like spices and laundry detergent in here. I spend a lot of time weighing out items and putting them into small bags. The counter is worn down from years of people leaning on it while they tell me about their day. It’s a simple life. I open up early when the air is still cool and the street is quiet. Then the morning rush starts and it’s a lot of reaching for things on high shelves. I should probably get a taller ladder, but the old one still works okay if you’re careful. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to escape the sun for a few minutes. We talk about the weather or the local news. I don’t have any big signs or bright lights. Just the name of the store above the door. The inventory is always changing based on what the wholesalers have. Sometimes I run out of things and people have to wait a few days. That’s just part of running a small store on this road. It’s nothing fancy, just a place to get what you need for the house. My dog usually sleeps under the front table.
