You can find Fortune Stones Ltd. on the second floor of Commerce House, which is right on Town Hall Road. Being on the second floor means we have to walk up and down those stairs a lot, which keeps us in shape I guess. The office is usually filled with samples of different stones and slabs. It’s a bit of a crowded space because there is always something new coming in. Town Hall Road is always bustling, so there is never a dull moment outside our windows. We spend a lot of time talking to suppliers and checking on the quality of the stone we are getting. It’s heavy work, even if we are mostly in the office part of things. We don't have a big lobby or anyone to greet you at the door with a smile and a coffee. Usually, you’ll just find one of us buried under some paperwork or looking at stone chips. It’s a practical business. We deal with the realities of the stone trade, which means there are often delays or issues with the quarries that we have to sort out. We’ve been at Commerce House for a while, and the building has its own old charm, even if the lift is a bit slow sometimes. We just keep at it, day in and day out, making sure the orders are handled. It is a lot of looking at textures and talking on the phone to get things moved.
