Padmawati Marmo

We are located right at No. 1 Old Fatehpura. It is an old part of town and we have been here for a good bit of time. Padmawati Marmo is basically where we spend all our waking hours. Dealing with marble is what we know. It is not a quiet job. There is always the sound of something being moved or polished in the back. The space at Old Fatehpura is alright, though it gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock arriving at once. We don't have a big corporate office or anyone in suits. It is just us and the stone. We handle the local orders and sometimes things going further out. My father started this and now we just keep it running like he did. We look at every piece that comes through the gate. Some marble is harder to work with than others, but we have learned how to handle it over the years. The street outside can be a bit narrow for the big trucks, but we manage. We are not trying to be the biggest place around. We just want to make sure the stone we sell is solid and that we are not making mistakes with the measurements. It is practical work. We drink a lot of tea and talk to the regulars who stop by to see what is new in the yard.
