Dinesh General Store

We've been here on Bohra Ganesh Ji Road for quite a while now. It's just a small shop, nothing fancy, but we try to keep the shelves full of things people around here need every day. My father started it, and now I'm mostly the one sitting at the counter. You can find soap, lentils, some snacks, and pens for the school kids. Sometimes the delivery truck is late, so if we run out of something, we just tell folks to come back tomorrow. The neighborhood has changed a lot, with more cars and people moving in, but our spot stays pretty much the same. It gets busy in the mornings when everyone is heading to work or the temple nearby. We don't have a big staff, just family mostly. If the door is open, we're here. We know most people by their names because they've been coming since they were little. It’s a simple life running a store. Sometimes the fridge for the cold drinks acts up, and we have to fix it. We keep a ledger for the regulars, though everything is going digital these days. We aren't trying to be a big supermarket. We just want to make sure the person living next door doesn't have to walk too far for a bag of sugar or some tea leaves. Stop by if you’re passing through the road. We usually have the radio on or a small fan going if it's hot.
