Avya Marble & Granites

Our place, Avya Marble & Granites, is over in the Sukher Industrial Area, specifically at G-1/207 in Udyog Vihar. It’s a bit different from the shops right on the main highway because we are tucked back in the industrial zone. There are a lot of factories around us, so you always hear the sound of saws cutting through stone nearby. We handle both marble and granite here. The granite is much heavier and harder to work with, but we have the equipment to move it around the yard. It gets pretty loud during the day with all the machines running. We have a few guys who help with the loading and unloading. We mostly just focus on getting the slabs ready. It isn't a glamorous job. We spend most of our time covered in slurry and stone dust. When the rain comes, the yard gets muddy, which makes moving the heavy blocks a bit of a challenge. We have been in this spot for some time and we know most of the other workers in Udyog Vihar. Sometimes we trade tools or help each other out if a machine breaks down. It’s a good community of people who just want to get their work done. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to finish the day's work and make sure the yard is ready for the next morning. It’s just us doing what we know how to do every single day.
