Annapurna Marbles

At 137 Sukher Nh-8, you will find Annapurna Marbles. We are situated just outside the Eklingnath Petrol Pump. It’s a busy spot. There is always the sound of engines and people filling up their tanks next door. Our space is mostly taken up by the slabs we keep out in the open. We spend most of our time out there, checking the stock or talking to drivers who bring in new loads. The highway stays busy from morning until late at night. Sometimes the wind blows the dust around, and we have to wash the stones so the colors show through properly. It's a lot of manual labor. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just have marble and we stay here to show it to whoever stops by. It can be a bit loud with the traffic on Nh-8, but you get used to it after a few months. We have a small area where we sit when it gets too hot or when the rain starts coming down hard. The rain actually makes the marble look really nice because it brings out the natural veins. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. Most people know the petrol pump, so they know where we are too. It is a straightforward kind of life, working with natural materials and dealing with the local weather. Nothing fancy, just stone and hard work.
