Aevis Marbles

Our place is on N.H. 8, right across from the Vandana Weigh Bridge in Sukher. That weigh bridge is a busy spot, so there are always heavy trucks lining up across the road from us. Sukher is known for its marble, and we are right in the middle of it all. The yard stays full of different slabs we bring in, and we spend a lot of time walking between the rows to check the quality and the patterns. It’s a lot of physical labor, but that’s the nature of the business. The noise from the highway is something you just stop noticing after a while. We have a small setup here, nothing too elaborate. The stone is what people come to see, so we let it sit out where the light hits it. When the sun is high, you can really see the details in the marble. We get people stopping by who are on their way somewhere else, and locals who know us by name. It’s a practical way to spend the day, just managing the inventory and helping load up whatever someone has bought. Being near the weigh bridge makes the logistics a bit easier for the drivers. We’ve been at this Sukher location for some time now and it feels like home, even with all the dust and the constant rumble of the highway traffic in the background.
