Adinath Departmental Store

Walking into Adinath Departmental Store, you usually smell a mix of spices and washing powder. We are located at Hiran Magri Sector-14, Main Road 41, A Block. It is a big responsibility keeping all the shelves full. I start my day by checking the milk delivery and making sure the bread is fresh. The aisles are a bit narrow because we try to fit a lot of different things in here. You have to watch your step so you don't knock over a stack of buckets or some large flour bags. Being on the Main Road means we get people stopping their cars and running in for one or two items. We have a heavy counter where we do the billing, and the calculator buttons are almost worn smooth from use. A Block is a busy neighborhood, so there is always someone coming in for a chat or a quick purchase. I spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers, trying to figure out when the next truck will arrive. The floor is made of old tiles that have some stains we can't get out, but we keep it swept. It gets very bright in the front part of the store during the afternoon. I like seeing the kids come in after school to pick out a snack. It makes the long hours at Sector-14 feel a little shorter.
