If you go to the New Bus Stand in Kovilpatti, you’ll find us in the Indira Complex. We are at 2/116. It is a busy area because of all the people coming and going from the buses. There is always a lot of noise, horns honking and people shouting, but you get used to it after a few days. Our office is a practical space where we handle the technical side of agriculture. We have a lot of manuals and some equipment samples sitting around on the shelves. It’s not a very large room, so it gets a bit crowded when more than three people are inside. Tuticorin district can get very humid, so the air feels heavy most of the time. We spend our days answering questions from farmers who come in looking for advice or parts. We have a small computer that we use for the accounts and a lot of paper notebooks for everything else. The stairs up to the office are a bit steep, but it keeps us fit. We don’t have a receptionist or anything like that. Whoever is nearest to the door just looks up and helps whoever walks in. It’s a straightforward way of doing things. We’ve been in this complex for a while and we know the other shop owners nearby. Sometimes we get coffee from the small stall right across the street. It is usually served in small steel tumblers and helps us get through the afternoon slump.
