Appa Cards

We are Appa Cards, and we're based at 17 Victoria Street in Thoothukudi. It is quite a central spot, right near the Indian Overseas Bank and across from the Bank of Baroda. Because of the banks, the street is always crowded with people and parked bikes. Our shop is where we do all our card printing. You can hear the sound of the printers running from the moment we open up until we close in the evening. There is usually a bit of a smell of ink in the air, but we have gotten used to it over the years. We handle all sorts of orders, from wedding invitations to small business cards. It’s funny how people still want paper cards even with everyone using phones now. We have stacks of different paper types and sample books all over the counters. It gets a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. Our customers are mostly local people from around town who stop by to pick up their orders or to ask about prices. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just the stuff that has worked for us for a long time. It can get pretty humid here in Thoothukudi, which sometimes makes the paper act a bit weird, so we have to be careful about how we store things. We just do our work, chat with the regulars, and try to get the orders out on time. The fan is always on.
