Sun School

Sun School sits right in Sg Extension here in Tumkur. It is a neighborhood that sees a lot of traffic, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading to work. We have a small building that gets a lot of light, which I guess fits the name. It isn't a very large school, but we make the most of the space we have. There are rows of wooden benches that have been around for years, and they are still holding up. People around here know us because we’ve been in this spot for a long time. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just a few of us making sure the kids stay on track with their books. Sometimes the power in the extension goes out, and we just have to keep going with the windows open for a bit of a breeze. It’s part of the charm of being in Tumkur, I suppose. The staff room is always a bit of a mess with tea cups and stacks of notebooks, but we know where everything is. We don't really do anything flashy. It is just a place where children come to learn their ABCs and numbers. We see the same faces every day at the gate. It is a steady kind of life, and we are quite used to the rhythm of it by now. The bell rings, the kids leave, and we tidy up for the next day.
