I stay over at No 905/C in the New Diesel Colony, right in the Golden Rock area of Trichy. It’s pretty easy to find because it’s directly opposite the Malaiadi Varam. My house is basically where I keep all my gear and props. There are boxes of cards, ropes, and some bigger cabinets for the stage stuff scattered around. I’ve lived in Trichy for a long time, and being near the Golden Rock railway area means I see a lot of the local life every day. I spend a lot of time practicing moves and making sure the equipment is working right. It’s not like a regular office job. Some days I’m just sitting here fixing a broken trapdoor or repainting a box. People call me for kids' parties or sometimes bigger community events. I carry my bags to different venues, mostly on my bike or a small car if the stuff is heavy. It’s a one-man show for the most part, though sometimes a friend helps out with the music. The neighborhood is quiet, and I like that. I don't have a big staff or a marketing team. It’s just me and the tricks I’ve learned over the years. I just enjoy seeing the look on people’s faces when they can’t figure out how a coin disappeared. That’s really all there is to it. It’s just a way to make a living while doing something a bit different from the usual nine-to-five routine.
