Sri Anandhi Modern Rice Mill

Sri Anandhi Modern Rice Mill is situated at 877/3 on M.G.R Road in Rattinamangalam. It is a long stretch of road and we are right there where the trucks go zooming past. The mill is quite large and we have a lot of space for drying the paddy out in the sun when the weather permits. It is a modern mill, but that just means the machines are a bit faster than the old ones we used to have. The core of the work is still the same as it has always been. We get the raw grain, we clean it, and we process it so it is ready for the kitchen. There is always a lot of activity with bags being loaded and unloaded. The sound of the mill is a constant hum that you eventually stop hearing after working here for a few weeks. Rattinamangalam is a good place for this kind of business. We have enough room to breathe and move things around. Sometimes the wind blows the husks all over the place, and we have to spend a good hour sweeping up. We don't have a fancy office for meetings; we usually just talk to people out in the yard or near the main shed. It is a straightforward operation. We focus on getting the rice through the machines without any trouble. Every day is pretty much the same, but that is fine with us.
