Our place is at 56, Main Road in Ayyankulam. It is a very straightforward spot right on the main stretch of road through the village. We handle a variety of general trading items and small goods. The building itself has seen better days, and the front door squeaks every time someone walks in, but it gets the job done for us. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. Most of our space is used for storing crates and boxes. We spend a lot of our time on the phone talking to distributors or writing down orders in our ledger books. It is the kind of business where you never really know what the day will bring. One day we might be unloading a truck full of household items, and the next we are just waiting for the rain to stop so we can move some stock. We aren't corporate people. We are just local residents who started this business to help supply the area with what it needs. We have a couple of ceiling fans that struggle to keep the place cool in the summer, and we usually keep a pot of tea going in the back. Customers stop by not just to buy things, but sometimes just to escape the sun for a few minutes. We don't have any big slogans or missions. We just show up every morning, open the shutters, and see who needs our help.
