Udaya Filter Coffee

Udaya Filter Coffee is situated in Thuvaraga Nagar, over in the Andarkuppam area of Manali New Town. It is a bit of a distance from the main city center, but we like it here. The air is a little different and the pace is not as crazy. We have a small shop where we focus on traditional filter coffee. It is what we know how to do best. The kitchen area is where we spend most of our time, boiling the milk and getting the decoction just right. We do not use any fancy machines that do the work for us. It is all done by hand, the way it should be. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we have been too busy to get around to it. We have a few benches for people to sit on, but most folks just stand around and chat for a minute before heading back to work. We see a lot of the factory workers and locals from around the New Town area. We do not have a mission statement or anything like that. We just want to make sure the coffee is hot and the price is fair. It is a humble existence, but we are proud of the little spot we have built here. We get some sun in the doorway during the mornings, which is nice for the people waiting. We just keep brewing until the pots are empty.
