Our agency is based at 1-B in the Industrial Estate of Ambattur. If you know the area, you know it’s mostly factories and workshops, so it’s a very practical place to be for a business like ours. Dwarika Prasad Tota Ram Agency has been a fixture here for a while. We aren't in a shiny glass building; it’s more of a functional unit that fits the industrial vibe of Ambattur. Inside, it’s mostly just desks piled with invoices and a few cupboards for the samples. We act as an agency for various goods, so there’s always something different coming through the doors or being discussed on the phones. The phone rings a lot with people asking about prices or delivery times. It’s a busy environment but we try to keep it organized in our own way. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the orders and paperwork to worry about that. There’s a lot of dust from the road and the nearby units, so we spend a fair bit of time cleaning up the workspace. We get a lot of regulars dropping in, mostly drivers or other local business owners from the estate, and we usually have a spare stool and some water for them. It’s just how we operate—no frills, just getting the business handled and making sure the clients get what they asked for without any unnecessary fuss or delays.
