I’ve been at No 14 on New Avadi Road for a long time now. Villivakkam is a place where everyone kind of knows each other, which I like. My name is Arun L, and this is where I do my business. It’s not a big office with a lot of staff. Mostly, it’s just me and maybe someone helping out when things get really busy. The road outside can get pretty loud with the buses and bikes going past all day. I’ve grown used to the sound over the years. People usually find me through word of mouth or by just walking past. They come by the house or give me a call on my mobile. I try to keep things straightforward. If someone needs help with something, I see what I can do for them. I don't use any fancy systems or complicated software. Just a notebook and a phone usually does the trick for me. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to get things done, especially when the street gets a bit flooded after a big storm. But we manage to keep working. My workspace is a bit cluttered, I’ll admit that. There are files from years ago mixed in with the new ones on my desk. I should probably organize it one of these days, but I always find something else more pressing to do. Being in Villivakkam is nice because everything is close by. I walk to the market or the station easily. It’s a practical place to be for a person like me.
