Our office is down in Dharapuram, specifically at 244 Gandhipuram. It’s a straightforward architecture practice. We don’t have a glass-walled studio or anything like that. It’s just an old-fashioned office where we draw up plans and talk about buildings. The area around Gandhipuram is pretty familiar to us, and we’ve seen it change a bit over the years. Architecture involves a lot of sitting and thinking, then even more time drawing things out. We have drafting tables and computers, and usually, there are rolls of blueprints tucked into every corner. It can get a bit messy when we’re working on several designs at once. We don’t use a lot of fancy talk about vision or concepts. We just look at the space available and try to figure out the best way to put a building on it that won't fall down and does what it’s supposed to do. People come in with their ideas, and we try to put those ideas onto paper. Sometimes the sketches take a while to get right. We’ve got a small team here, and we’ve worked together for a long time. It’s a quiet life for the most part, just focusing on the lines and the measurements. If you’re in Dharapuram, you’ve probably walked past our door at some point. We’re just here doing the work, one drawing at a time, without any big fuss.
