Kmt Technology is based at 39, Vellakkinar Pirivu, right on Mettupalayam Road. If you know that road, you know how hectic it can get with all the buses and cars rushing past. Our shop is a bit of a sanctuary from all that noise, though the sound of the road still drifts in. We work with different kinds of technology and components. It’s the kind of place where you’ll see wires everywhere and small parts scattered across the workbenches. We aren't a big tech firm with glass walls. It’s more of a local shop where we sit and figure out technical problems. Some days are slow, and we just spend time organizing the drawers of resistors and chips. Other days, everyone seems to come in at once with things that need fixing. We don’t have a fancy dress code; we usually just wear whatever is comfortable for soldering or putting together circuits. The light in here is a bit bright because we need to see the tiny parts we are working on. We usually have the front door open, which lets in a bit of dust, but it’s better than feeling trapped inside. People from around the Mettupalayam area stop by often, sometimes just to ask a quick question about a gadget. We try to give them a straight answer without using too many big words. It's just a simple tech workspace where we do our best every day. The morning tea is the best part.
