We are based out in Vedapatti Post, which is part of the Madathukulam Taluk area. Being out here at No. 1/ 180 is quite different than working in a big city office. It’s a lot quieter around here, with mostly just fields and local houses surrounding our workspace. East West Exim is the name we use for the business, but to the people living nearby, we are just the guys working in the small shed behind the main gate. We move various goods back and forth, trying to act as a link between this local area and the places where these things are needed. Sometimes the roads around Vedapatti are a bit rough for the bigger lorries, especially after it rains and the mud gets thick, but we always manage to get things through eventually. It’s a very small team, mostly just family members and two or three people from the village who know how we like things done. We don’t have a website or a marketing person, just this physical spot. Most of our day is spent physically checking the stock or chatting with the drivers who stop by. The post office is quite close, which makes it easy to handle the daily mail and documents. We started this because there wasn't a lot of other work in the taluk that paid a steady wage. It involves a lot of manual labor, like counting heavy bags and checking labels. If the power goes out, we just take a break and wait. It’s a simple life.
