Sapthagiri Bricks

Our place, Sapthagiri Bricks, is over at 6-17-23 in Ramchandra Nagar. It is a local operation where we spend most of our time outdoors in the yard. Making bricks is honest work but it’s definitely not easy on the back. We have a routine that starts before the sun is fully up to avoid the worst of the midday heat. The neighborhood knows us by the red dust and the stacks of bricks that line the property. We don't have a big marketing department or a fancy website; we just rely on people in Ramchandra Nagar knowing where we are. Often, someone will just walk up to the gate and ask how many loads we can get to their site by the end of the week. We try to keep things moving as fast as the weather allows, because rain really slows down the drying process. Sometimes the machinery acts up and we have to spend the afternoon fixing things instead of making new stock, but that’s just part of the life. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years, with more houses going up, which keeps us pretty busy. It is just a few of us working here, making sure the mix is right and the kiln is burning like it should. We don't make any big promises, we just show up and do the work that needs doing every day of the week to keep the orders moving.
