Prakasam English Medium School

This school is out in Doddi Palli, near Chittoor. It is a small village area where most people know each other. We are an English medium school, which is something the parents here really wanted for their kids. The building is not very big and it sits among the fields. We have a few classrooms and a small area for the kids to play during their break time. It is a bit far from the main city, so it is quiet and peaceful most of the time. The children come from the nearby houses, often walking through the dusty paths. We do not have the latest gadgets or a big library. We have the books that the government requires and some extra ones we collected over time. The teachers try their best to speak English with the students so they get used to it. It is a struggle sometimes because everyone speaks Telugu at home. We have a small staff and we all do multiple jobs, like checking the gate or helping with the lunch. The walls are painted a simple color and we have some charts made by the kids hanging up. It is just a basic school trying to provide an education in a rural part of Andhra Pradesh. We just take it one day at a time. The goal is just to make sure they can read and write well.
