Sam Earth Movers

Down in Panakudi, at 25, Siva Nagar, is where Sam Earth Movers is located. It’s a quiet enough area until we start the engines up. We have been working out of this spot for a long time. The yard isn't huge, but it fits what we need for the machines. Panakudi can be a tough place to work because the ground is often harder than you’d expect. We spend a lot of time sharpening teeth on buckets and checking oil levels. It is mostly a family-run kind of thing, so we don't have any corporate rules. We just show up and do what needs doing. Sometimes the neighbors in Siva Nagar chat with us over the fence. The gate is usually open if we are around. If the machines are out on a job, the place feels a bit empty. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the equipment stays running and the work gets finished. You won't find us wearing ties or using big words. It’s mostly just talk about engines, fuel prices, and the weather. The rain can be a real pain when you’re trying to move earth, but that’s just part of the business. We take things one day at a time and try not to overthink it.
