Balan Earthmovers & Compressors

Balan Earthmovers & Compressors is based at 10/219 in Vallioor, which is down near Kudankulam. Being so close to the coast and the big projects down there, we stay quite busy with heavy equipment rentals and repairs. We have a mix of earthmoving machines and large compressors that we maintain in our yard. The salt air can be tough on the metal, so we spend a lot of time painting and greasing things to stop the rust from setting in. It is a practical business where we focus on getting the machinery out to the sites that need them. The guys working here are mostly locals who know their way around a diesel engine. We don't have much of a front desk; you usually just walk in and find someone in the shop. Sometimes we are out on a call in Kudankulam for most of the day, leaving the yard a bit empty. It is a hot place to work, especially in the summer months, but we have some good shade trees nearby where we take our breaks. We handle the paperwork as it comes, though we would much rather be out fixing a broken hydraulic line. People in Vallioor know us for being straightforward about what the machines can do. We just keep working and making sure the compressors are holding pressure for whenever the next job starts.
