Ocean Traders

We are based out of a small place at 2/301, Muthaliayarpati, right along the Kadayam Road. It’s a bit of a drive to get here, but the road is usually clear except for the occasional tractor or bus. The building is old and has that specific smell of stored goods. We do a lot of trading as Ocean Traders from here, mostly just moving stuff from one place to another. It’s a lot of lifting and counting. The Kadayam Road can get quite hot in the summer months, so we keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of staff, just a few of us making sure the inventory is correct. Muthaliayarpati is a quiet spot, which is nice for focusing on the books. Sometimes we sit on the steps outside during the break and watch the people go by. The inventory piles up in the back room and we have to be careful how we stack it. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s steady. We’ve got a rhythm to the day that involves checking the stock first thing and then handling whatever comes in later. The floor is concrete and a bit cracked in places, but it holds up. We just do our thing and try to keep everything organized. The address 2/301 has been our home for years and the locals know us well.
