Chitra Dental Clinic

Our dental clinic is situated at 66h Ganesa Illam on Madurai Road in Sankarnagar. It’s a busy road, so there’s a lot of dust and noise from the trucks passing by. The clinic itself is inside the Ganesa Illam building, which is pretty well-known in this part of town. I usually get here a bit before nine to open the shutters and get the water running. We have a dental chair that’s been with us for quite a few years, but it still works fine. People from all over Sankarnagar come here for their teeth. We do a lot of pullings and fillings. The smell of the cleaning solution is pretty strong, but you get used to it after a while. I spend a lot of time looking at X-rays and talking to people about why their gums are sore. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it’s important. The waiting area is just a few plastic chairs and a table with some old newspapers. We don’t have air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that hums loudly. When the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we just have to wait it out or use the generator if it’s working. It’s a simple life running a clinic on Madurai Road. We know most of our patients by their first names and their family histories. It’s just a regular place for regular people to get their dental work done without any fancy bells or whistles.
