Out on Tenkasi Road, right near the Piranoor Border, you’ll find us at 1/952. Ambika Woods Pvt. Ltd. is where we deal with timber and wood supplies. Being near the border means we see a lot of trucks passing through all day long. It’s a bit of a dusty environment with all the wood being moved around, but we’re used to it. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. If you come to see us, you’ll probably find us out back near the stacks of logs. We just cut and sell wood to people who need it for building or making furniture. We’ve been working with wood for a long time, so we know what's good and what's just okay. We don't try to sugarcoat things. If a piece of wood has a knot or a crack, we’ll tell you. It’s better to be honest so nobody gets a surprise later. The work is physical and we usually go home pretty tired. But it’s good to work with your hands. People from both sides of the border come to us because they know we’ve been here for years. We just keep doing what we do, stacking wood and loading trucks, day after day, year after year, without much fuss. It is a simple life but the wood business is something we know inside and out.
