Selvamatha Store

Our little shop is at 16 A in Samayapuram. It is a small space, but we make the most of it. We have been here for a long time, and the building shows its age with a few cracks in the walls and paint that has faded over the years. We sell the basic things that people in Samayapuram need every day, like milk, bread, and some local vegetables. Because we are at 16 A, we are right in the middle of the residential area, so we see the same faces every single morning. I usually know what someone wants before they even say it. One person always wants the morning paper, another always forgets their bag and needs a spare one. It is a comfortable routine. We don't have any big refrigerators at Selvamatha Store, just a small one for the dairy and some cold sodas. In the summer, it gets very warm inside, so we spend a lot of time standing near the doorway to catch any breeze. We don't do any big marketing or anything like that. We just keep the door open and wait for the regulars to show up. It is a simple life and a simple business. We close up for a few hours in the afternoon when it is too hot for anyone to be out walking, then open back up until the sun goes down. It is just how we do things here.
