S P M Engineering

We are based at number 11 in Ekkatuthangal. The address says Ekkaptuthaneal, but most folks around here just know the area as Ekkatuthangal. S P M Engineering is a small engineering shop. We don’t have a massive factory. It’s a more compact space where we handle specific jobs. We have a few lathes and some welding equipment. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by the end of the day. We try to sweep up, but it always seems to come back. There are about four of us working here most days. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons because the roof is low, but we have a few big fans that help a bit. We don't really have a website or anything like that. People just drop by or call us. We’ve been at this same spot for quite a few years. We know the shop owners next door and across the street. Sometimes we share tools if someone is in a bind. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't wear uniforms, just old clothes that we don't mind getting dirty. There’s a small desk where we keep the bills and a landline phone that rings loudly. We just keep our heads down and do the work that comes our way. It’s a simple life in this part of town. We finish up around six and lock the gates.
