Our shop is No: 17 A on the Tanjore Main Road. Being in Tiruverumbur means we get a lot of the through traffic coming off the main highway. It is usually quite noisy outside with the trucks and buses going past all the time. Mathina Hardwares Stores has been sitting on this stretch for quite a while now. We have the usual stuff you’d expect to find in a hardware place. The building isn't new, and the shelves are a bit worn down from years of moving heavy boxes around. We try to keep things where we can find them, but it’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes. Tiruverumbur is a busy area, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading to work. We see a lot of local workmen and people from the neighborhood stopping in for bits and pieces. Tanjore Main Road is the lifeline of this part of town, so being right on it helps people find us without too much trouble. We don’t do anything fancy with the display. It’s just rows of bins and tools. Most days it is just us working through the list of things that need doing. It’s hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running. It’s a straightforward business. We know most of the regulars by name now. If you’re driving down the main road, you’ll see us there among the other shops, right in the thick of things.
